What part of planning is coming easy to you?

I have a lot of ideas for lessons but pairing them with a standard stresses me out. Apparently lesson planning isn't the easiest so we have three or four classes dedicated to it this quarter to teach us how to survive. It feels heavy at times, but I think something that I might be getting good at with lesson planning is accepting it for what it is. I presume it will get easier and as I see how others prepare I will be able to learn what works or doesn't work from them.

Along with accepting lesson planning for what it is, I am good at being optimistic and that planning can only get easier with practice.

What part is not as intuitive for you?

The Big Idea and Parent & Community Connections sections of the template are still confusing to me and I never know what to put in these spaces.

Being explicit...

Lesson Planning is a little confusing right now with the EdTPA template, but it is starting to make a little more sense. The template feels tedious and sometimes redundant, but I guess if everything is aligned then it should feel like I'm writing the same thing over and over again. It feels like I am writing the EdTPA for children in that I explain everything that I am going to do and then I explain what the students are doing at the same time. Nothing is implied or left for interpretation. I struggle with being so explicit but I know it is good for me because one's brain can jump to conclusions that others haven't arrived to yet. Plus, it helps me stay focused on the task at hand.
